Who
Robert Toppes (c.1405 - 1467)
Robert Toppes was a wealthy and influential man who was elected Mayor of Norwich four times and was a Burgess in Parliament. He had many business interests and owned property throughout the city. Dragon Hall was the hub of Toppes' international business empire where he displayed goods imported from the Low Countries and the Baltic. Despite his status and importance in medieval Norwich we still do not know where he came from. However, research continues and maybe one day we will find out more.
