Tours of Norwich's 12 SHAPING 24 buildings will take place for the second year running this summer, with each session taking in 3 of the Norwich 12 sites.
Starting on 21st July and occurring at least twice each, the tours will be conducted by experienced and knowledgeable Blue Badge Guides and staff from the individual buildings, offering an educated view of these stunning heritage buildings.
With many of the buildings usually inaccessible to the public, these four tours aim to improve access for all to the uniquely rich social history of the city of Norwich.
Tour 1 begins at The Halls (St. Andrews & Blackfriars), the most complete medieval friary complex surviving in England, and will culminate at City Hall, taking in the medieval Guildhall on the way.
Tour 2 visits the landmark millennium project for the East of England, The Forum, before heading to Norwich Castle and finally onto Dragon Hall.
Beginning at St James Mill, Tour 3 also visits the exceptional medieval hospital buildings that make up The Great Hospital, and Norwich Cathedral, one of the most complete Romanesque buildings in Europe.
Finally, Tour 4 takes in Surrey House, whose owner, Aviva, are donating £1 per person per tour to its nominated charity, Railway Children. Afterwards, the tour will visit the glorious Georgian Assembly House, and The Cathedral of St John the Baptist.
Each tour costs £10 per person and tickets are available from the Norwich Tourist Information Centre in The Forum, Millennium Plain.
