Groups of 15 or more people can enjoy a daytime visit to the Castle at a discounted admission price. Group visits are offered throughout the year but should be booked as far in advance as possible. Contact the Castle for further information.
Guided tours of the battlements and dungeons are available throughout the day at an extra charge. (Battlements minimum age 8, dungeons minimum age 5).
A café, shop, indoor picnic room and baby change facilities are available. There are also outdoor picnic tables for customer use.
The museum is accessible to wheelchair users. A video presentation offers an audio-visual introduction to the Castle, battlements and dungeons. Assistance dogs are welcome. All public galleries, the shop and café are wheelchair accessible. There are accessible toilets, induction loops and wheelchairs available for loan. There is parking for Blue Badge holders next to the Castle's main entrance. Hearing loops are available at the reception desks and for our lectures and talks.
There is no wheelchair access to the Castle battlements and dungeons, and some access restrictions in the Keep. A film introduction to the Castle Keep, and 'virtual tours' of battlements and dungeons are available. These are BSL-interpreted and audio described. There is also an Audio Guide for visually impaired visitors - please ask for this at the front desk.
