Queen Elizabeth II (1926 - present)

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II officially opened The Forum on 18 July 2002 as part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations.

During her visit, The Queen sent the largest email she had ever sent, from the Norfolk & Norwich Millennium Library, to 114,000 school children at 452 schools across Norfolk. She toured the building with the Duke of Edinburgh, who also visited the 2^nd Air Division Memorial Library, before meeting crowds of people outside.

As part of her speech, The Queen said: "Prince Philip and I are delighted to be with you in Norfolk today. Much has changed over the 50 years since I became Queen. But the warmth of the welcome from the people of Norfolk has remained constant and is something that I cherish. God bless you all."
