Opening times

The Great Hospital is a residential care home and therefore access to the public is limited.

Summer 2008 Open Days

Eagle Ward and St. Helen's Church will be open to the public from 10 am to 12pm on the following dates:

  • Friday 6 June
  • Friday 4 July
  • Friday 1 August
  • Saturday 2 August

Please enter via the church, in Bishopgate. Admission is free, donations welcome. Closest car park: St. Helen's Wharf, by the Adam & Eve P.H.

Services at St. Helen's Church

  • 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, 10.30am Holy Communion
  • 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, 10.30am Book of Common Prayer Communion
  • 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, 9.30am Morning Prayer
  • 5th Sunday (when occurring), 9.30am Holy Communion, 10.30am Morning Prayer

The church is also open between 10am and 12pm on Friday mornings during June, July, and August.

Group visits and tours

Tours of the Great Hospital can be arranged by appointment, at a charge of £50 for a group of up to 25 people.
